Born in Taiwan, Yen-Ching Lin studied at the Taipei National University of the Arts and from here went on to obtain a place on the Postgraduate Diploma program (also known as the dance company EDge) at the London Contemporary Dance School. Here she had the opportunity to learn performances from a variety of esteemed choreographers. Following this, she continued her dance education and gained an MA in Contemporary Dance.

Yen-Ching has gone on the work with choreographers such as Maresa von Stockert, Charles Linehan, Jonathan Lunn, Jan de Schynkel, and Didy Veldman. She has danced for Hofesh Shechter Company and Bern Ballet under the direction of Stijn Celis. In 2010, Yen-Ching joined the critically acclaimed Akram Khan Company which, during 2015-2017, she also acted as rehearsal director for.

From the workshop with Yen-Ching, you can expect to focus on the exploration into different art forms and collaborating with different artists. She also has a keen interest in virtual reality.

Yen-Ching is also a Member of Theo Adam Company https://www.theoadams.com/about/

“We will focus on the sensations, different qualities and movements within the body to deepen our awareness through elements of inner/outer space, nature/animals. Through the improvisation journey, we will connect the body and emotions in the moment and let them lead you to explore movements.”

“Throughout the class, each self could find more individual quality and challenge for yourself in a different way also to feel the freedom within your own body and mind.”

Yen-Ching was also our guest assessor at our Dance Stables Ballet Grading Day on Saturday 24th March 2018, where she shared invaluable advice to our young DS Ballerinas. What an inspiration to our young dancers!
