This Sunday 24th June 2018, we have our very own Dance Stables teacher Despina Triantou leading our not-to-be-missed Sunday Session.
All of our DS family will know our next Sunday Session teacher very well. Despina currently teaches at our Wood Green Academy, Muswell Hill Academy, Whetstone Academy, Islington Academy, Kidz Kabin Nurseries, St. George’s Primary School, West Lea School, 313 Fitness Studio and Hornsey Road Children Centre - yes, she clearly loves her job!
Originally from Greece, Despina moved to London in order to grow as an artist and to expand her knowledge in the Dance world. She is trained in a variety of different dance styles; Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Street Dance and has performance experience with Dance Stables Collective as part of “Montage” at Sadlers Wells Theatre, as well as professional showcases back in Greece including Kazafy Troupe and “Fame” TV shows.
Most recently, some of you might have caught Despina’s solo performance in the Dance Stables Summer Show "Wanderlust!", earlier this month that took place in the 395 seat theatre at Artsdepot. An expertly executed performance, combining elements of Contemporary, Street Dance and Hip Hop in a stunning representation of LA life.
Dance Education is an extremely important factor in Despina’s life. She is a talented teacher of all ages and chose her job because she feels that it gives her the power to make the world better through dance. She states her favourite part of a class is “Watching the students performing a routine with smile and joy, it simply fills my heart.” She has also recently achieved a qualification in "Lifespan Development and Learning" so that she can pursue her love of teaching to the next level. Despina has also helped to develop our Dance Stables Horseshoe Ballet Grading, which premiered this year - with an 100% pass rate.
Here's what Despina says about her class;
"There is no right or wrong way, you way is the only way. Through improvisation and set sequences we will explore movement based on the factors around us, emphasising on musicality and dynamics. I can't wait to see all the unique movers in class!"
So, fancy making your Sunday that much better? Get ready to smile, laugh and boogie on down!
